The sporting director of Djurgården has confirmed to the Swedish media clubs have approached him over midfielder Kerim Mrabti.
The 23 year old has been linked with Newcastle United in recent days, along with clubs from Serie A.
Speaking to Sportbladet, Bosse Andersson was asked about the interest from other clubs after reports Newcastle United and Huddersfield Town were showing an interest: “We have received a lot of concrete requests about Kerim. The interest is great, but we have rejected anything.
“I do not want to talk about any specific clubs, but no negotiations are being held right now.”
It’s been claimed in the British media Mrabti has received attention from clubs including Newcastle United and Huddersfield Town. Serie A side Udinese and Torino are also said to be tracking the player.
There have been reports Djurgården have received offers from clubs, and that the player could be available for 17m Krona (about £1.5m).
However, given the comments from Andersson it seems any interested club will have to wait until the summer, and keep the dream alive for Mrabti to get a move to a top league.
