For weeks the Seville media have been letting the world know Sandro Ramirez is Sevilla’s back-up man.
Should all else fail, it’s the Everton man who will get a call on Wednesday and a deal will be attempted.
It’s not the most flattering of courtships but Sandro is apparently up for it, seeing playing for a Sevilla as his last shot at getting a place in Spain’s World Cup squad, however unlikely that may seem right now.
The bigger question was how Everton would respond to it, whether they’d be so willing to suddenly help Sevilla out.
The first is a loan, and Sevilla would pick up Sandro’s wages for the rest of the season, probably asking him to take a pay-cut.
However, if Everton ask for a permanent transfer, that is considered more ‘complicated’. Sevilla don’t want to make such a commitment to the player and always love a try-before-buy deal, as they’ve just got with Roque Mesa.
Anyway, with around 30 hours left of the window, at the time of writing, Sandro is still just a back-up option.
