Aymeric Laporte is not the only defender joining Manchester City this week, at least according to claims from the Netherlands.
Athletic Club Bilbao on Monday announced City have paid Laporte’s €65m buyout clause, and he could soon by joined by Philippe Sandler.
Fox Sports in the Netherlands report PEC Zwolle defender Sandler has travelled to Manchester for a medical after a deal was agreed between the two clubs.
According to the Dutch claims, Manchester City will pay PEC €3m for the 20 year old defender, and he’ll then be sent straight back to the Eredivisie club on loan for the rest of the season.
Sandler was with Ajax before moving to PEC Zwolle in 2016, and he’s since made the breakthrough to the team, and obviously caught the eye of Manchester City.
Voetbal International’s Stef de Bont disagrees slightly with Fox, and says that whilst talks are ongoing, not everything has been agreed yet, although there’s hope that can happen today.
Philippe Sandler is a right footed central defender, standing at 1.90m, and he’s represented by Mino Raiola.
