Swansea are reportedly in negotiations to sign Sevilla striker Fernando Llorente. Yesterday, Sevilla sporting director Monchi confirmed a deal is very close with an English club, and we assume he simply didn’t realise.
He said: “We are making great strides with an English club to reach an agreement, I hope in the coming days to close the deal.”
Local website Diario de Sevilla say today could be the ‘white smoke for Llorente’s departure’.
It is reported discussions took place with his brother and agent last night to negotiate the final amount each club should pay etc.
Earlier, Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli also confirmed the Spaniard is expected to leave the club.
Swansea star Andre Ayew is reportedly close to signing for West Ham, and the arrival of Llorente could bring some respite to the fans of the Welsh club.
