Crystal Palace links to Eder were curious to start with and things have more confusing since.
The 31 year old has been so out of the picture at Inter Milan this season that he hasn’t started a Serie A game, and a move to the Premier League would surely be a gamble for a player who, since moving from Brazilian football in 2005, hasn’t played anywhere other than Italy.
Crystal Palace were said to have made an approach and Eder was considering it, with Inter themselves keen to see the back of him. Then it was reported in Italy that despite Crystal Palace offering €10-11m, Eder ‘does not seem attracted’ by a move to the English club.
Monday saw claims of Crystal Palace officials travelling to Milan to try and further a deal for the player, but that’s now got a negative slant too.
TMW, carrying claims from Italian TV, say Inter have refused a Crystal Palace offer, which is this time put at €3m for the loan and a further €8m option to sign Eder in the summer.
Perhaps it’s time to move on.
