Watford have reportedly told Benfica they will be signing Andre Carrillo from the Portuguese club on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
Currently at the Premier League side on a loan deal, Carrillo can make the permanent move if the Hornets activate the buying clause, which is €15m.
And according to Portuguese newspaper Record today, the Hornets have already shown their intention to keep the player, although they are expected to negotiate for a discount, maybe giving Benfica a percentage of a future transfer.
The decision came with Carrillo’s last few appearances for the club, with the player scoring two goals in the last three games, convincing Watford that he should stay for longer.
Record says that Carrillo is aware of the negotiations, and his agent Elio Casaretto has already spoken to Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira at the Estádio da Luz this week, showing the player’s intention to stay in England.
