If we didn’t know any better, the last couple of rumours surrounding the future of Arsenal’s Theo Walcott would suggest he is bored of London and wants to go somewhere sunny.
First came the story from Corriere dello Sport that the former Southampton starlet had ‘offered himself’ to AC Milan in Italy, and Monday now sees Calciomercato.it suggest he could end up in Nice in the south of France.
The Italian website state the Ligue 1 side have been offered the Arsenal winger on loan as they hope to find a replacement for summer flop Wesley Sneijder, who joined Al Gharafa in Qatar over the weekend.
However, Walcott’s wages could be a problem, while his ‘desire to stay in England’ would also make the move difficult.
You might have already spotted the issue here, but if the Arsenal forward has ‘offered himself’ to AC Milan, how on earth does he have a ‘desire to stay in England’.
He does know Milan is in Italy, yes?
Yes, it’s two different sources with two different stories, but the player’s will is quite important in transfers, and if outlets can’t even agree on whether he wants to leave England or prefers a move abroad, we’re off to a rough start to the Walcott exit saga.
