Dele Alli has given an interview to ESPN Brasil this week. The Tottenham Hotspur star had spoken to the outlet before, so this time, the questions were just about the club’s recent form and a few other personal curiosities.

First speaking about teammates, Alli was asked about Harry Kane, who’s finally getting some coverage in Brazil after all the great season’s he’s been having.

“Yeah, sometimes opposites attract,” Alli told ESPN Brasil when quizzed about the chemistry between them two. “You know, we’re similar in a lot of ways and different in a lot of ways. But I think it works.”

He also said that Kane’s success has everything to do with the striker’s efforts to become such a great player: “Harry is an amazing guy. He’s a true professional. He works very hard everyday. He’s always the first one in, and he’s usually the last to leave the training pitch.”

“So he deserves everything he’s getting. I think you can see how good he is, the records he’s broke. I think Harry is one of them players, you know, just because he broke the record now, he could break it again this year.”

About the past couple of seasons of Tottenham Hotspur, who managed to make great campaigns but failed to achieve major trophies, the player claimed that it’s something the club continues to seek.

“As a team, we’re very confident in ourselves and we believe we’re up there with the best. It’s frustrating when you get to the end of the season and you don’t have anything to show for it. So as players, as a team, and as a club, you want to win titles and trophies.”

Finally on the biggest inspirations he has, Alli named only two players, one English and one Brazilian: “I think Steven Gerrard was a big one to me. And obviously Ronaldinho. I always used to watch his clips on Youtube, with all his tricks and stuff, and he always looked like he was having fun.”
