The Catalan media may seem pretty confident about Barcelona’s deal to take Philippe Coutinho away from Liverpool, but other outlets continue do doubt that the deal is that close.
Earlier today, we’ve already covered a story from Marca saying the Reds are not accepting to negotiate the midfielder for now, and the same word is coming from Brazil.
UOL reports that Liverpool are not letting Coutinho go just yet, and should only negotiate for him after the end of the season.
The player’s representatives continue the conversations with the Premier League club, but the response hasn’t been very positive, with signs that he can only leave after the World Cup.
UOL claims that the Liverpool board are already feeling pressure from player and agents to let him go, just like what happened in the summer transfer window. But the club want to count on him for the next stage of the Champions League at least.
In financial terms, Barcelona’s new bid would be of €150m, just as reported before, but that wouldn’t be paid all at once. The Catalan side want to give €100m up front, with the other €50m depending on performance bonuses.
Maybe that’s not very convincing either.
