Emiliano Marcondes may not be one of the most famous players in Europe right now, but there’s a fact that puts him along with the continent’s best strikers.
Currently with 19 goals scored for Nordsjaelland this season, he’s right besides big stars in the race for the Golden Boot, being the best Brazilian in the ranking and currently sitting 15th, ahead of players like Harry Kane and Paulo Dybala.
That’s why Brazilian outlet UOL has a story about him today, presenting the player to the country as he’s not all that well known outside of Denmark.
Despite being born in the Nordic country, Marcondes has a Brazilian name and citizenship. His mother is Brazilian, and met his father, a musician, back in the 90’s when he went to play in South America.
UOL claims that Emiliano’s contact with his Brazilian family is only made on social mediais, and his Portuguese isn’t exactly the best due to the lack of practice.
Now what does it have to do with English football? Well, Marcondes is joining Brentford FC as soon as the January window opens.
The Championship side has recently agreed a pre-contract with him, as his deal with Nordsjaelland expires on the last day of 2017.
So Marcondes is signing for Brentford on a free transfer, having agreed a one-and-a-half-year deal, which runs until the end of the 2018/19 season.
Now Brentford fans certainly hope he continues having this fantastic form, as this would certainly help the club to try to get a better position in the Championship in the second half of the season.
With striker Leo Bonatini doing so well for Wolves this season, maybe we’ll see a lot more Brazilian goals in the Championship after January.
