Besiktas president Fikret Orman has spoken to Turkish TV channel A Spor about recent developments at the club, and the future of Newcastle United target Cenk Tosun.
Tosun has been strongly linked with a move to Newcastle United in recent weeks after claims they opened talks with his agent.
Fotomac have reported on comments Orman made about the future of Tosun , folwling the interest from English clubs “Yes it’s true that I went to England for transfer talks but that’s not about the outgoings, in fact I went there for talks about a potential transfer from England to our club.”
Newcastle United tabled a bid of £8m in the summer, but this was rejected instantly by the Turkish champions. However, this hasn’t deterred the Premier League side, and they’ve maintained their interest in Tosun this season.
It was claimed in October Newcastle United are lining up a €20m bid for Tosun in the new year, but they may need to offer more than this given the player’s form this season.
A few weeks ago we covered reports from Turkey Newcastle United have held initial talks with Tosun’s father over a possible move to England
