Turkish newspaper Fanatik claim Fenerbahçe are interested signing in Manchester United defender Daley Blind in the January transfer window, and that Jose Mourinho has endorsed the Dutchman’s exit.
The Turkish club are looking to add a left back to their squad and have also been linked with Manchester United outcast Luke Shaw, and Chelsea duo Baba Rahman and Kenedy, in recent weeks.
Fanatik say Fenerbahçe have now switched their attention to Blind, and they could look to sign the Manchester United play in the next transfer window. It’s claimed Fenerbahçe are looking to start official discussions with Manchester United in the coming weeks.
Blind’s contract with Manchester United expires in 2018, but the Premier League side have an option to extend for another season.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been using Blind mainly in the Champions League this season, with Ashley Young being his preferred choice for the left back spot in in recent Premier League games.
Young impressed last night against Watford, scoring two goals, and it’s unlikely Blind will get many chances under Mourinho in the near future if the England international maintains his current form.
As for Mourinho endorsing a move. Letting such a versatile player go midseason doesn’t really fit with Jose’s usual outlook.
