According to claims in the Turkish media, Besiktas captain Oguzhan Ozyakup could be sold in the next window.
The former Arsenal player has been linked with a move to Everton in recent days, with claims they could enter into talks to sign the Turkey international.
Ozyakup was again left out of Besiktas starting eleven for their game against Akhisar last night, which has led to further speculation about his future with the Turkish champions. The Everton target has been left out of the side in recent weeks, leading to reports he could find a new club in the new year.
Speaking after the game, former Fenerbahce star turned journalist Rıdvan Dilmen said the midfielder could leave Besiktas and possibly head to England: “As it is known, the player could get a transfer to England and some European countries.”
These words have been taken seriously, with Dilmen’s opinion carrying some weight in Turkey.
This week we covered reports from Turkey that Everton are keen on Ozyakup, and that the Merseyside club could look to commence formal talks with Besiktas.
The Turkey international will be a free agent next summer when his contract expires with Besiktas, but Everton could still make a move for the player in January.
Everton could face competition from Arsenal, who could be looking to bring Ozyakup back to the Emirates.
