Leeds United star confirms he hired airplane yesterday to mock rival club

Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has confirmed to Sydsvenskan he and Robin Olsen were the ones who hired an airplane yesterday to fly over IFK Goteborg’s stadium.

Malmo recently won their 20^th Swedish league title, much to the dismay of their bitter rivals Goteborg, and the Leeds United star was on hand to remind them of this.

Jansson started his career at Malmo, and couldn’t resist rubbing it in by hiring an airplane to fly a banner over the Gamla Ullevi stadium during Goteborg’s defeat to GIF Sundsvall.

“I am convinced that the Goteborgs would have done exactly the same if the roles were reversed. A beautiful thing.”

It’s been well documented Jansson still holds a lot of admiration for his former club, and he’s been seen at several Malmo games since his move to Leeds United. The 26 year old has spoken in the past about finishing his career with the Swedish champions, and even used their training facilities in the summer to maintain his fitness.

Last month the Leeds United player, along with his Elland Road teammate Pawel Cibicki, celebrated with the Malmo players via a video link when they won the Swedish league with games to spare.
