Despite Brazil’s elimination in the U17 World Cup, there were quite a few positives to be taken from the youngsters in the squad.

One of them was Alan Guimarães, who had already had a great South American championship, and now has proven himself again on a world level.

With the big attention these tournaments get, the player couldn’t avoid being linked to several clubs from Europe, and that’s what’s been happening in the past couple of weeks.

Real Madrid, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been said to be interested, even though the sources for these claims were quite strange, something that we explained earlier this week.

But we all know how transfer news works, and as people don’t really care to check the information, Arsenal are still being considered a strong contender for the midfielder, including by the Brazilian press. Liverpool have been ignored, and the Gunners get the spotlight.

Globo Esporte has a big story today explaining the youngster’s situation, and stating Palmeiras have absolutely no intention of letting him go soon.

Palmeiras want Alan to build a bigger relationship with the club, which he coincidentally is a childhood fan of, and maybe even become an idol there. If possible, with titles like Gabriel Jesus.

Although the player is 17 years of age and has been playing in U20 tournaments, Palmeiras believes he needs to get stronger and have more maturity before debuting on a professional level.

But there’s also good news for those who want to take him. Despite rumours saying the release clause would be of €50m, neither Palmeiras or Alan’s staff confirmed it, and Globo Esporte believes it’s actually €15m.

By denying that there’s something agreed with Real Madrid, like published by Spanish press, the information Globo Esporte has is very similar to what we were able to report earlier this week with sources close to the player. So despite having their interest originating from questionable claims, Arsenal could still be on the race.

But Palmeiras are not looking for money right now, even because with a huge sponsor backing them, they don’t need it. So it should take a bit longer for Alan to be sold.
