Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s start to his Leeds United career was so good it caused waves in Germany, Hamburg specifically.
With the Bundesliga club struggling for goals, and Lasogga forced out, that he was finding the back of the net for Leeds inevitably caused some blushes.
As seems traditional, Hamburg are once again skirting with possible relegation, and six goals in eight games shows where one of the problems is.
Hamburg sporting director Jens Todt has already floated the idea of Lasogga returning at the end of the season, boosted by a good season at Leeds United. Todt suggested it was all part of the plan, but few believed him.
Now, Hamburger Morgenpost report the family has moved over. Lasogga’s girlfriend and their baby have now moved to Leeds and are living in ‘a small apartment’. It’s probably not that small.
For a few days ‘family happiness has been perfect’, explain MoPo, and it could certainly help Lasogga on the pitch.
A return at the end of the season is ‘open’ say the German newspaper, but Lasogga is putting down some roots.
