It’s been reported in the Dutch media that Jurgen Locadia wasn’t on the verge of joining Wolverhampton Wanderers, but was being lined up for a move to the Premier League.
Last week it was reported the forward was undergoing a medical with Wolves, after claims a fee had been agreed between the Championship side and PSV.
AD.nl report an unnamed Premier League side were showing an interest in Locadia despite reports he was close to signing for Wolves. Brighton were linked with Locadia this summer, after reports the Premier League had tabled a bid for the player.
On deadline day we covered reports Wolves had tabled a bid in the region of €11m, and it seemed the deal would be announced before the window closed. However, reports emerged from the Netherlands that PSV had pulled the plug on the deal with Wolves.
At the time we said this would have come as a blow to Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo, but it seems the disappointed manager could have been Brighton’s Chris Houghton.
