It seems the Portuguese national team weren’t very happy with the way the Hungarian team treated them during their World Cup qualifiers.

Lisbon newspaper A Bola claims the Hungarians had no problems in turning to ‘excessive aggressiveness’, ‘not to say violence’ during their 3-0 defeat to Cristiano Ronaldo’s side.

But with the win, the Portuguese team seems to have taken the event with good humour, as proved in an Instagram post made by the West Ham defender José Fonte after the game.

In a picture of the players celebrating the win, the West Ham player photo effects to show some of them with bruises and bandages. The caption said: “Ripped up and we like it! Always together, boys.”

Portugal are currently in second place of Group B with 21 points. They are facing Switzerland tonight, who are the leaders on 24 points.

The West Ham player will be hoping for another win, but perhaps less aggression.
