Josef de Souza’s transfer from Fenerbahce to West Bromwich Albion looks to be off after the player yesterday returned to training with the Turkish side.
Souza has been pictured in training with Fenerbahce, and it seems his transfer to the Premier League isn’t going to happen.
Despite the signing of Gregorz Krychowiak from PSG, the Turkish media were still confident Souza would be heading to West Brom before the deadline, but it appears this isn’t the case.
Hürriyet’s Fenerbahce reporter Ahmet Ercanlar also says Souza has yet to agree personal terms with West Brom and after the signing of Krychowiak, Tony Pulis may not need another defensive midfielder.
This week we covered reports from Turkey that Fenerbahce had accepted a €11.5m bid from West Brom, after Souza demanded a move to England.
The English side were prepared to pay the loyalty bonus he was due to be owed by the Turkish side, but the arrival of Krychowiak means it’s unlikely a deal will be completed.
