Hamburg are expected to make a few changes before the transfer window closes, with Bild reporting a left-back and winger are expected to arrive at the German side.

However, Hamburg need to sell if they want to buy new players, and the highest earners like Aaron Hunt, Lewis Holtby and Pierre-Michel Lasogga are reportedly on the list of possible departures.

That’s where Leeds United come in.

Due to Nicolai Müller’s injury, Hunt and Holtby are less probable to go, but Lasogga is still rumoured to be on Leeds United’s radar, and Bild say the Yorkshire club remain keen.

There has been recent speculation about Lasogga going to Hannover, but at this stage it looks like Leeds United remain the only club showing interest in the 25 year old.

Hamburg are eager to get Lasogga off their wage bill after it was recently revealed the forward earns €3m+ a season with the Bundesliga side.

This is a stumbling block for Leeds United as if they did take him on loan they would have to pay a percentage towards his salary. However, with the Championship side in need of an experienced centre forward, there’s an assumption a move could work for all involved.

Leeds United are still ‘courting’ Lasogga, according to Bild, and Hamburg will hope that turns into something rather more serious.
