Leander Dendoncker is a potential transfer which has really caught the imagination of Everton fans, just like the midfielder did with Manchester United supporters when their club was linked.
Potential is such an exciting commodity in the current football world, that Dendoncker’s arrival would bring huge excitement to any Premier League club.
Everton links have been pushed in Belgium, although when Sport Witness did a little digging it was found there wasn’t a great deal of reasoning for that. Perhaps again, as was the case with Youri Tielemans, Everton are repeatedly linked because the move makes some sense.
There’s enough circumstantial evidence to build a case, and the exit of Gareth Barry further encouraged things. Everton signing Henry Onyekuru and loaning him to Anderlecht is a firm link between the two clubs, and that could be exploited in any move.
On Monday, Everton are once again linked by Het Belang van limburg, who say the Toffees remain keen.
As part of the same snippet, Leander Dendoncker himself is quoted as saying: “For the moment, I’m still here. So we’ll see if something happens.”
Dendoncker’s agent has made it clear the midfielder is keen on a move, feeling he needs to leave Anderlecht for a new challenge.
Open to the idea of a transfer, Everton could be perfect for Dendoncker, with the chance to work under Ronald Koeman.
As well as Everton, Atletico Madrid are linked, and that was also the case with Tielemans.
