AS have the smallest of updates on Luciano Vietto in their Friday edition.
After Spanish newspaper Sport made it very clear Atletico Madrid have put Vietto up for sale, and Marca reported there’s been no acceptable offers, AS say there have been offers of some sort.
Southampton and Marseille ‘join the list of contenders’ according to AS, and both the English and French clubs have made an offer.
Unfortunately for Vietto and Atletico, the offers are for a loan and the Spanish side are only keen on a permanent sale.
Atletico may have to change that preference, or make it clear they’ll accept a very low price.
Vietto didn’t shine at Sevilla on loan last season, and with Atletico so keen to sell, it’s no wonder clubs like Southampton would prefer to try the player first.
Perhaps the best course of action is a loan which becomes a permanent transfer, at a set price, if certain goals are met over the course of the season.
Southampton or Marseille could be interested in such a deal, and short of accepting a very low price, it may be the best Atletico get.
