Adrien Silva’s wish to leave Sporting CP continues being a frequent subject for most of the Portuguese newspapers, with West Brom and Tottenham the two most frequently linked clubs.
Today, O Jogo describe the possible departure as an ‘arm wrestle’ between the club and the player’s agents.
It’s claimed Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho won’t change his demands, which stand at €30m, but meanwhile, Adrien’s representatives believe a deal can be found for only €20m.
England has always been the player’s favourite destination, with rumoured moves to Chelsea and Leicester City collapsed in the past. And O Jogo takes the recent links to say that Everton, Tottenham and West Brom could all be potential destinations.
Claims of a €20m Tottenham offer for Adrien Silva started in the Portuguese press and were taken as fact there. That offer was reportedly knocked back, which would seem to contradict what the agent believes.
A fee of €20m would be a good deal to take Adrien, but it’s hard to believe Sporting would let him go for only that.
The alleged Tottenham offer has been dragged up continually, and was referred to again by Record a few days ago.
West Brom links grew from the club’s supposed interest in William Carvalho, and Tony Pulis revealing he’s keeping an eye on Sporting.
