After the Spanish media reported Danilo’s move to Manchester City as a done deal, it’s time for Brazilian outlet Lance to publish the same information.
They claim the agreement was made between Manchester City and Real Madrid for €35m, and the player will be signing a five year contract at Pep Guardiola’s side.
According to Lance, Manchester City were the last club to join the race, and still managed to win it. First only Chelsea and Juventus were battling for the player, and the Citizens decided to go for him after their priority target Dani Alves turned them down to join Paris Saint Germain.
A few days ago, reliable Brazilian website UOL said Chelsea were ‘very close’ to signing Danilo, but it seems a late offer from Manchester City convinced either Real Madrid or Danilo to make another choice.
Danilo will be the second right-back signed by Pep Guardiola this window, and will be joining Kyle Walker in the squad should the deal go through.
