Every single person who follows the football transfer market knows how fans take the news these days. Not all the rumours please those who read them, and the reactions can be very rude, to say the least.

On Tuesday, Brazilian reporter Marcelo Bechler broke the story saying Barcelona’s Neymar has accepted an offer to Paris Saint Germain. A move of this size is always taken with disbelief, but it seems some fans have crossed the line.

As covered by Placar, the journalist was threatened on social media with people saying they would ‘break into his house’ in case the transfer does not happen. He called it a ‘disease’ from the person who’s done it.

Esporte Interativo commentator André Henning was interviewed by Placar on Wednesday, and the information was mentioned during the talk. It’s obviously having a huge repercussion, and he made it clear that everyone at the channel believes the story.

This morning, Marcelo Bechler claimed that the PSG players have already spoken to Neymar and are now aware that he’s joining them. He says it’s not the player’s intention to make up this rumour in order to get a new contract at Barcelona.

At least not this time.
