Some days ago, Manchester United were said to be considering the possibility of making a cash plus player offer for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

The Red Devils were said to be interested in the possibility of offering Rasmus Hojlund in their move, but there was uncertainty about Napoli’s interest in the Danish striker.

Tuttomercatoweb have looked at the situation in more detail today and they offer some hope to Manchester United, if they want to execute a deal like that.

They mention that while the possibility of such an offer being made is only a ‘hypothesis’, it is ‘’not such a far-fetched idea’ at all. They state two reasons for why it could actually go through.

The first reason pertains to Napoli’s need to buy a new striker in the summer, with Romelu Lukaku on the decline and Giovanni Simeone unwilling to spend another season as a back-up striker.

Hojlund could become an effective option for them and that is also because of his wage demands, which are in line with Napoli’s conditions under CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis.

The Danish striker earns around €4m per season (around €7m per season gross) and the Italian giants will have no problem paying that wage to the Manchester United player.

Whether Napoli actually want the 22-year-old or not remains to be seen, but the Italian media are warming to the idea.
