Liverpool’s Luis Diaz has been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks.

There is now the possibility of the Reds bringing in a potential replacement for the Colombian, who has just one Premier League goal in his last ten appearances.

Should the 28-year-old depart then it will surely force Liverpool to enter the market.

Sportmediaset have reported that Liverpool are now ‘ready to move’ for AC Milan’s Rafael Leao, who has also attracted attention from Barcelona.

While the Catalan club are leading the race to sign the Portuguese attacker, a reduction in his current valuation can prove to be vital for Liverpool.

The 25-year-old has a release clause worth €175m in his current contract, but he now finds himself increasingly ‘distant’ at the San Siro and this could lead to Milan accepting around €100m to let the winger depart.

Whether there is any room for negotiation remains to be seen but the Rossoneri could be in an advantageous position, because Leao’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2028.

Liverpool would surely want a further discount on that €100m to even enter play.
