Ipswich Town and Coventry City are in the picture to sign Slovan Liberec’s Ahmad Ghali in the winter market.
The 24-year-old arrived at the Czech club in 2022 and has mainly been used as a wing-back this season, where he made 19 appearances.
Africa Foot state Ghali, who can also operate as a winger, is being courted by clubs in Italy and England.
Ipswich Town, Coventry City and AC Monza are named as the interested parties, with the Serie A side closely monitoring him.
The report states the Nigerian has had contact with clubs from England and Italy but the details of these discussions aren’t shared. It’s claimed both Ipswich Town and Frank Lampard’s side ‘would consider recruiting’ him in this window.
Ghali’s deal lasts until 2027 but has stated that he’s ready to change clubs in January and Slovan Liberec are willing to listen to offers. There’s no mention of their request and Transfermarkt value him at €850,000, which is affordable for Ipswich Town and Coventry City.
The report states the player could ‘soon back his bags’ and Kieran McKenna’s side and the Championship club are in the mix to sign him.
