Last summer, Celtic were keen on signing Gustav Isaksen and even made an offer, but the Lazio player refused to join Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The 23-year-old arrived at the Serie A club from FC Midtjylland in August 2023 and didn’t want to leave them after a year. Therefore, he didn’t entertain Celtic or any other club in the summer.

Isaksen’s decision to continue at Lazio hasn’t put off Celtic and they’ve reportedly returned to sign him in the winter market.

That’s according to Il Messaggero, who state the Scottish Premiership champions are still keen on the winger.

He’s scored three goals and registered three assists from 24 matches this season and his performances have caught the attention of Premier League sides and others elsewhere.

There’s no mention of any English clubs, with the focus on Celtic and Bologna, who are also in the picture for the Denmark international. The report states Brendan Rodgers’ side ‘continue to request’ the attacker, while Bologna like him a lot.

Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito doesn’t consider any player ‘indispensable’ and for Isaksen, his side are demanding €15m.

Il Messaggero state they would like to sell him in the next window, but the Dane’s sale in January could ‘unlock the liquidity index, free up a place in the lists and open up new market scenarios’.

Lazio would have to make a decision if Celtic or another club were to offer €15m for the player in January.
