Liverpool can get Lyon’s Rayan Cherki for €30-35m in the January transfer window if they decide to step up their interest in him.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, although club sources are disagreeing on that €5m difference at this moment in time.
The website reports that the French side have set an asking price on Cherki as they look to secure big sales and the €100m they need to balance the books and avoid a forced relegation to Ligue 2.
They’ve already set a starting price on the midfielder at €30m, although some club sources are saying it will be €35m.
Either way, Liverpool are one of the interested parties, with reports in England stating as much and Foot Mercato stating they’ve been able to confirm that is the case.
They’re just following Cherki for now and are yet to put their hands in their pockets, but could face competition from Bayer Leverkusen, who are also keen. PSG also still have an eye on the 21-year-old.
Whether Liverpool would be willing to pay €30m or €35m isn’t made clear but they’re in the mix and the January transfer window is looking likely to be a very busy one for Cherki and his representatives.
