Joshua Zirkzee has scored only one goal for Manchester United since his arrival from Bologna in the summer.

Rasmus Hojlund’s return to fitness has led to Zirkzee largely having to accept a spot on the bench.

The striker has been linked with a move back to Italy in the past few weeks and some more information has been provided by Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo today.

His report mentions that the Red Devils signed the player on specific instructions from Erik ten Hag, despite some claims otherwise at the time. The manager’s exit has brought more uncertainty around the player.

The Dutchman is now said to be ‘very disappointed’ with his situation at Old Trafford, which Longo says has been shared by people close to the player.

Zirkzee’s agent Kia Joorabchian is now expected to play a key role in determining his future.

He has an excellent relationship with Juventus sporting director Cristiano Guintoli and the striker’s name has been mentioned repeatedly.

Longo accepts a transfer to Juventus would be difficult, but there’s even a suggestion the Turin club could pay €40-50m to Manchester United eventually.
