Manchester City’s James McAtee has told Voetbal Primeur that he’s unaware of reports linking him to Ajax and Feyenoord.
The 22-year-old returned to the Etihad in the summer, after spending last two seasons on loan at Sheffield United.
Pep Guardiola has included the midfielder in his plans this season but hasn’t given ffered him regular minutes.
McAtee has been limited to 311 minutes from six games for Manchester City this season. This includes a start in the Community Shield and two more in the EFL Cup.
On Monday, the Manchester City player started in England U21’s 1-1 draw against the Netherlands U21 at the Yanmar Stadion. After the tie, he had a chat with Voetbal Primeur, who specifically asked him about the two Eredivisie sides.
Responding to that, he said: “I don’t know. I’ve seen them play… They are very big clubs and play good football.”
When further pressed whether those type of clubs [Ajax and Feyenoord] would be great for him to take the next step in his career, McAtte explained: “I’m not too sure. I don’t know [with a smile].”
The midfielder doesn’t seem to be thinking about leaving the Premier League side anytime soon.
