Estadio Deportivo don’t believe their local club Sevilla will join any race to sign Alberto Moreno this summer. The Spanish fullback was very highly rated when he left Sevilla, and had even been linked with move to La Liga’s big two, but hasn’t kicked on since moving to the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp edging the 24 year old towards the Anfield exit door would be no surprise, and it’s somewhat natural to then link Sevilla with interest. However, Estadio Deportivo, usually very well informed, are pretty sure it’s not happening.
Explaining it’s not considered ‘appropriate’ to spend a ‘considerable amount’ on a Moreno return, the newspaper also point out that Sevilla are hardly scraping around for options in that area of the pitch.
Moreno may one day return to Sevilla, but it’s unlikely to be for the kind of transfer fee Liverpool would be asking this summer. Other potential destinations are likelier.
