In June, La Tercera reported on Liverpool’s interest in FC Midtjylland star Darío Osorio.
Fast forward to October and Denmark’s Tipsbladet now discuss Liverpool’s failed attempt to sign the 20-year-old in the summer window.
The Chile international arrived in Europe for the first time when the Danish club signed him from Universidad de Chile in August 2023.
Osorio finished his debut season with eight goals and two assists and has managed three goals and an assist so far this season. He’s on the radar of several European clubs.
Tipsbladet state one club already made an approach to sign him in the summer and that was Liverpool.
It’s claimed the Reds offered €65-75m kr [€8.7-€10m] for the South American. The bid wasn’t taken into consideration by Midtjylland, who would need more money to part ways with the attacker.
The Danish club are aware that various clubs are keeping close tabs on him. Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Lille and Real Sociedad are among the long list of clubs to have sent their scouts to watch the club this season.
Midtjylland plan to make the Chilean one of the Danish Superliga big sales next summer.
The record sale currently stands at €25m [Ernest Nuamah to RWDM]. This is followed by Orri Óskarsson and Ibrahim Osman to Real Sociedad and Brighton & Hove Albion for €20m and €19.5m respectively.
