Southampton summer signing Juan has been receiving praise in the Turkish media following his performance for his loanee club Goztepe.

The Premier League side signed the 22-year-old forward from Sao Paulo in August, but he was immediately loaned out to the Turkish club for the season. With both Southampton and Goztepe owned by the Sports Republic Group it has made it easier for players to head to Turkey on loan.

Hurriyet have reported on Juan’s impact during Goztepe’s 3-0 victory over Kayserispor last night, in which scored his first Super Lig goal of the season, having got an assist against Fenerbahce on his debut.

The Turkish media outlet say the Brazilian caught the eye of Goztepe fans, and impressed coaching staff with his fight.

Juan was eventually replaced by fellow Southampton loanee Kuryu Matsuki, who saw out the last 25 minutes as Goztepe’s centre forward. Like Juan, the Japanese forward was signed by the Saints in the summer, but was then loaned out following his move from FC Tokyo.

With the link with the Sports Republic Group, it seems Southampton are looking to develop the two young forwards at Goztepe, giving them much needed first team experience in their debut seasons in Europe.
