On Thursday, we covered claims from Spain and Argentina that Aston Villa have agreed to let Enzo Barrenechea join Valencia on loan, a day after blocking his exit.

Later that day, Superdeporte stated Aston Villa and the La Liga side have reopened talks. It was also reported the 23-year-old could seal a move in the next few hours.

The transfer hasn’t been completed yet, but it’s right on track. El Desmarque now claim the Aston Villa player will join Valencia on loan without a purchase option.

The defensive midfielder already arrived in Spain at 1am [likely local time]. It’s claimed Barrenechea will undergo medical tests on Friday morning and then sign the contract.

Upon his arrival in Spain, Radio Marca caught up with the Argentine, who revealed that he’s ready to join Los Ches.

“I hope I can do my best and get the best results possible. Yes, I am ready. I have to pass the medical examination. I wanted to be here, I wanted to give my best, it is a step forward in my career and I hope to give my best,” he said, as quoted by El Desmarque.

Last month, Aston Villa signed the South American from Juventus. Unai Emery hasn’t included him in the squad for the two games this season.

El Desmarque say Barrenechea requested Emery to let him leave, if he can’t enjoy regular minutes at Aston Villa. He has done his part to secure a loan move to Valencia.
