Freshly promoted to the Premier League, Brighton & Hove Albion are, as well as looking for players capable of strengthening their first-team squad for next season, looking to the future.
According to Prezglad Sportowy in Poland, the Seagulls have added a young goalkeeper to their U18s, Piotr Zalewski, from SMS Lodz.
The 16-year-old is described as ‘one of the most talented goalkeepers in his age group in the country’, and, according to Skauci, is already familiar with the facilities at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre. having trained with the club there last July.
Unable to sign him due to his age, Brighton appear to have waited until he turned 16 before finalising a deal, reportedly beating Sunderland and Lech Poznan to his signature.
Zalewski has already represented his country at U15 level, and will undoubtedly be looking to climb up the echelons after his move to a Premier League side.
It might, however, take him some time to break into Brighton’s first-team, but, at 16, time is something he has a lot of.
