Club hope to complete deal for Wolves player this week – Deal not that complicated

Feyenoord are hoping to complete a loan deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Hugo Bueno this week.

That’s according to journalist Martijn Krabbendam via FR 12, who reports that the Wolves man is at the top of the Dutch side’s list as they need a short-term replacement for Quilindschy Hartman.

Bueno has been linked with a move to Feyenoord over the last week or so, with the Dutch side making their first moves last week and opening contact.

They’re targeting him as Lutsharel Geertruida is in the final year of his deal and could leave at the last minute while both Gijs Smal and Quilindschy Hartman are nursing injuries.

Reports in the Netherlands made it clear a loan with an option to buy had been discussed and that Wolves may be open to such a deal despite Bueno making 25 appearances in all competitions last season.

He was largely used as a substitute by Gary O’Neil, managing just 830 minutes in those appearances and just seven starts in the Premier League.

Krabbendam now provides the latest on the move for the Wolves man, reporting that Feyenoord hope to get a deal done this week.

“Something is needed there, because Lutsharel Geertruida is out of contract and can be taken away at the last minute,” he said.

“A left-wing defender is needed, because Hartman will only be back around January. Smal is injured and they had actually already said goodbye to López, while he is now suddenly back in the starting lineup.

“They are going to get someone there, probably Hugo Bueno from Wolves. They hope to complete that this week. It concerns a rental without an option to buy, because he will simply bridge the gap until Hartman returns. So, it doesn’t have to be that complicated.”
