Altınordu youngster Berke Özer is set for a switch to Manchester City, Sport Witness understands.
The Turkish youngster has been closely followed by Manchester City, and scouts from the Premier League side have been present at Turkey’s U17 Euro Championship games. The English side are a familiar club to Turkish academies after they signed Enes Unal from Bursaspor two years ago.
The 16-year old goalkeeper is the first player born in the 2000’s to feature in the Turkish leagues this season after his debut game against Boluspor in the second tier. The youngster has played two games for the senior team in this campaign and has been a regular on the bench.
Altınordu’s academy has produced some very good players in recent years, including Cengiz Under, who’s currently at Basaksehir. The Turkish club also sold Çağlar Soyuncu to Bundesliga side Freiburg at the start of the season for €2.5m.
