Earlier today, we covered claims from the Portuguese media which placed Newcastle United in a good position to sign Ousmane Diomande from Sporting.
It was said that while the Magpies prepare a bid for the defender, the Lions have set an more affordable price for his sale (down from €80m to €50-60m), making the transfer easier.
Now as A Bola shares another story on Sporting’s summer moves, it seems Newcastle’s hunt for Diomande may actually impact West Ham’s market as well.
That’s because the Lions are chasing Anderlecht defender Zeno Debast. It’s said the first contacts already took place and the player is actually pleased with the Lisbon side’s project.
The reason why Sporting are already moving to sign a centre-back is exactly Diomande’s potential departure, as his exit could ‘accelerate’ their operation for Belgian.
The Portuguese media has been sounding confident about the Lions’ negotiations for Debast, and even though West Ham used have been in the battle, there’s confidence for Sporting.
With the Hammers looking for a new manager for next season, they might be waiting to move for their targets. And with Newcastle pressing for Diomande, Sporting will be in a hurry to get the Anderlecht player, giving West Ham no chance.
