It seems Chelsea and Manchester United have been keeping an eye on Cercle Brugge players.

That’s according to the Belgian club’s director Rembert Vromant, who is this week featured in a big profile made by Het Laatste Nieuws.

The Brugge chief highlighted the job that has been done there, explaining they’ve been working hard on their recruitment, with their squad drawing big interest from other European sides.

That’s where Chelsea and Manchester United ended up mentioned, with Vromant claiming that their games are seeing many scouts present recently.

“Listen, an average of sixteen scouts come to watch every home match. I have seen the level of those scouts rise this season.

“Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Lens, Lille, Salzburg, Leverkusen, Ajax, Aston Villa… They don’t come only for our opponent, believe me. We bring very interesting players. A young, athletic profile with a good mentality.”

Vromant even ended up naming some of the talents they have at Cercle Brugge who could be drawing interest from those clubs.

“Alan Minda and Felipe Augusto have a lot of potential.

“I think our central defenders should be valued more. We are taking Daland’s departure into account this summer. And then of course there is Kevin Denkey. From the calls I receive for him, I notice that he is very good in the market.

“We are now in the phase where files from the head scout for all teams end up on the desk of the technical director. The decisions are made: who do we go for? Well, in England, Germany and France, teams want to go for Denkey.”

The truth is that the Belgian media hasn’t reported interest from Chelsea or Manchester United in any Cercle Brugge players lately, so perhaps they’ve been working quietly to identify some potential summer targets.

It’s well known that both Blues and Red Devils have their spies watching leagues around the world, but it’s interesting that they’ve been showing some special attention to a club which isn’t among the biggest in Belgium.
