Manolo Gabbiadini was an instant success at Southampton and has been settling into his new life seamlessly. Wanting to leave Napoli due to a lack of prominence with the Italian club, Gabbiadini was repeatedly linked with Premier League moves for a couple of windows.
Gabbiadini had followed another successful Italian striker to Southampton, which may well have helped him more than many fans realise. Speaking to FourFourTwo (subscribe here) Gabbiadini said he’s found food in England to be fine, because Graziano Pelle has given him a raft of tips.
“We’ve even played a few games together. With Italy, you join up for three days every couple of months, so you don’t have time to get to know each other very well. But since I arrived, he’s sent me loads of messages with recommendations for restaurants and places to visit.”
As for on the pitch advice, Pelle told Gabbiadini to score goals and “you’ll be OK,” it’s not worked out too badly so far.
