As we edge closer to the summer window, it’s time for Bernardo Silva to be linked with an exit from Manchester City once again.
The news this time comes from France, where Le10Sport talk about Paris Saint Germain’s interest in the midfielder.
It’s said the Ligue 1 club have been keen on signing Silva from Manchester City ‘for several seasons’, and he is now ‘a priority’ for the summer.
Since his contract with the Premier League club reportedly includes a £50m release clause, that’s seen as a very affordable signing for PSG, basically leaving the decision up to the player.
And it turns out that there’s even some confidence that Silva wants to move to the French club ‘if the opportunity arrives’, especially with people close to him sounding ‘optimistic’ about it.
Now we should probably wait and see if that’s confirmed, because even though PSG may have been seen as an attractive destination for the past few years, that may be changing.
Not only with last year’s departures, but also with Kylian Mbappé now set to leave. It isn’t strange to see Silva wanting a transfer to Barcelona, but leaving Manchester City for Ligue 1 doesn’t sound like a reasonable idea right now.
