Thiago Alcantara looks set to leave Liverpool in the summer and has ‘no shortage of suitors’ ready to offer him a contract.
That’s according to AS in Spain, who cover the player today and what may happen in the summer as his contract at Anfield comes to an end.
They explain that Thiago is finally glimpsing the light at the end of the tunnel after 284 days spent on the sidelines following an injury picked up last season.
That hip injury was the seventh injury he’s picked up in four years at Liverpool, a miserable record to say the least.
His contract with Liverpool ends in July and at that point he will be 33 years old and far down the pecking order, with Liverpool’s midfield rebuild and the continued rise of the likes of Curtis Jones meaning he is unlikely to remain.
Instead ‘everything indicates’ that the midfielder will leave Anfield and the Spaniard will have to decide where to go from there.
The newspaper believe that there will be ‘no shortage of suitors’ for his signature despite his injury record, with his quality and track record helping to pale that into insignificance.
They make no mention of where he may end up, just that it’s extremely likely he’ll be moving on from Liverpool and venturing to pastures new, following his manager Jürgen Klopp out of Anfield.
