Galatasaray are back in for Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva, claim SporunDibi.Com. The Turkish club have been linked with the Brazilian midfielder in the past, and were close to signing him last summer before Jurgen Klopp blocked the move.
Lucas was also very close to leaving Liverpool when Brendan Rodgers was in charge, but the current Celtic manager blocked his move to Besiktas. The Brazilian is currently the longest serving player in Liverpool’s squad and he’ll be out of contract in the summer.
SporunDibi report Galatasaray will try to sign Lucas after their manager Igor Tudor gave the green light to Galatasaray’s board. It’s been revealed talks with Lucas’ agent went very well and both sides will again meet soon.
Lucas has made 27 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season. Klopp’s squad has shown a need for the versatile player and if he’s to leave Anfield then a replacement will have to be brought in.
