Watford have moved into the picture to sign Cremonese’s David Okereke in the winter market, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
Operating mainly as a striker and at times as a winger, he has managed two goals and two assists from 18 games, which includes only four league starts.
Even though his numbers aren’t so impressive, the 26-year-old is ‘in the sights’ of Watford.
Frosinone have been chasing the Nigerian for a while and TMW add he’s received sirens from abroad, especially from the Hornets and Beşiktaş.
It’s said the versatile player is ‘liked’ by both the Championship club and Fernando Santos’ side. The latter had looked at him last summer window and he’s still on their agenda for the ongoing window.
That’s all the report has to say about Watford, without mentioning whether Okereke or Cremonese are open to doing business with the English club this month.
Last summer, Burnley were credited with interest in the attacker and TuttoMercatoWeb had then stated that a fee of around €6-7m would be enough to take him away from the Serie B side.
Okereke’s deal lasts until 2025 and Transfermarkt currently value him at €2.7m.
