Tottenham shouldn’t expect new signing Radu Dragusin to stay at the club ‘for a long time’, with his agent already ‘talking about the next club’.
That’s according to SportBILD, who have something of a salty response to Dragusin’s move to Tottenham today and the continued comments from his agent on the matter.
Dragusin completed a €25m move to Tottenham earlier this week following an intense start to the January transfer window that had several clubs chasing his signature.
Spurs eventually won out but only after the player turned down a late offer from Bayern Munich, preferring to keep his word than renege and head to the Allianz Arena.
That left his agent Florin Manea somewhat dumbstruck, particularly after he had spent the last few week consistently hyping up his client and creating most of the transfer speculation himself with well placed comments and snippets of information.
Even after Dragusin completed his move he was still talking to the media, telling Romanian TV channel Digi Sport all about his plans for the future, which seemingly didn’t include Tottenham.
That’s been picked up on by Sport BILD, who cover how Dragusin ‘turned down’ Bayern but Spurs fans shouldn’t be too pleased as Manea clearly doesn’t expect his protégé to ‘stay at Tottenham for a long time’.
Instead, he’s already talking about moves to “the best teams in the world”, which leads SportBILD to ask, ‘isn’t Tottenham one of the best teams?’
They then question why if that was the plan did Dragusin turn down Bayern, before stating that it’s clear Tottenham are being used as a ‘stopover’ for the defender, which should come as a real ‘blow in the neck’ for Postecoglou.
They’re clearly not impressed by Manea or his actions and are going out of their way to make sure Tottenham are well aware of what he is saying and doing.
It all feels a little sour grapes in reality and perhaps an attempt to curb any Spurs enjoyment after they managed to win this particular transfer tussle.
