As Brazilian side Atlético Mineiro are set to continue with their chase for Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz, it seems they’re getting more focused on that signing now.
Globo Esporte today writes that the centre-forward is the Galo’s ‘Plan A’ for 2024, even though it won’t be easy to get him signed.
Atlético already tried to sign him on a loan back in the summer, and now they’re set to go for a permanent deal with Fulham during the January transfer window.
A ‘difficult negotiation’ is expected because the Whites had previously demanded £8m for his transfer, and there’s also the fact the player would need to take a big pay cut.
Rodrigo Muniz only has eight appearances for Fulham this season, with one goal scored. He recently had a knee injury, but that’s not something of any concern, as he should be back on the pitch by December.
Despite not being Marco Silva’s first choice for the attack, he’s been useful as a second option, so there’s a reason why Fulham are not letting him go so easily.
Let’s see whether Atlético will have enough power (or money) to convince the Whites of selling.
