Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus has been ruled out of Brazil’s match against Colombia.
That’s according to TNT Sports, the player is not travelling with the squad to Barranquilla, and will stay in Rio de Janeiro to continue with the recovery of his injury.
The story also claims that Jesus will be working to be available for Brazil’s match against Argentina, which will be played at the Maracanã Stadium on Tuesday.
Earlier today, the very same TNT Sports came up with a surprising report showing that Jesus was working with the ball while training with the squad.
The news came out as a surprise, because there’s been big doubt regarding his fitness situation since Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said he wasn’t even close to getting back to the pitch.
Now we shall see whether Jesus will actually be back for the next week, as that game is of big importance for Brazil and their manager Fernando Diniz.
With Arsenal clearly not comfortable about his call up, Mikel Arteta and his staff will certainly be watching the national team’s decision, and perhaps hoping that he won’t play in the following game either.
