Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho was left out of Argentina’s squad for this international break due to a ‘football decision’ by those in charge.
That’s according to journalist Gastón Edul, who does however insist that Garnacho will be back in the squad in future.
Garnacho has been a regular part of Argentina’s squad over the last year, with them determined to lock him down.
He made his debut against Australia earlier this year with a 16-minute appearance before following that up with a 30-minute appearance against Indonesia four days later.
Garnacho was then left on the bench for the 1-0 win over Ecuador before being handed a five-minute appearance against Bolivia in September and then sitting on the bench in the October break as well.
It was somewhat surprising then, to see the Manchester United man miss out on a call-up to the squad for this international break, when Argentina will take on Uruguay and Brazil.
His omission was something Edul was asked about on Twitter and he provided the explanation behind it, insisting it’s not completely bad news for the Manchester United youngster.
“Football decision of the CT,” he wrote.
“Many players were in the squad and then were dropped until they were ready to come back. Garnacho is part of this project and will surely have the chance to return.”
